How did I become an exchange student?

I missed the timeline but I thought I should write about the beginning of my story.

YFU is an intenational foreign exchange program for high school student between age 14 and 18. I don't have an exact reason for choosing YFU, but I don't regret it after the orientation camp. :) You can search for the local YFU by the help of our good friend, Google. ;)

When I was in Grade 6 I realized that we have exchange students in our school. :D So I searched for the opportunities to study abroad but I was too young for them. My parents told me that I have to wait until I'm older. They hoped that I'll forget. :D

In September 2017, I went for a YFU information meeting and then I registered for a 1 year program, to Finland. The rest is history. :) I was accepted, and I have to write down my whole life for my future host family. I had to go to the doctor, ask letters from my teachers and from my parents too. I had 1 month to collect everything.

I made this blog for my friends and for future exchange students but also for myself as a diary.

I will try to write something once every week or two, but I can't promise anything.

Until next time, Näkemiin!
